Hosted by Good Wolf Board Member and prominent international attorney Richard (Dick) Martin and his wife, Jill Martin, the almost 50 invitees enjoyed a lovely evening.

In his welcome address, Dick Martin reviewed the history of Good Wolf, including our work with frontline human service workers and executive leaders at Lifting Up Westchester, with senior citizens across Westchester County in the Thriving While Aging program, and with at-risk adolescents at New Rochelle High School.

Special guests included:

  • Nate Adams, Director of the My Brother’s Keeper and My Sister’s Keeper programs in New Rochelle, who spoke inspiringly about the need and the positive impact of Good Wolf on the lives of adolescents,
  • Dr. Dagoberto Artiles, Principal of New Rochelle High School, who spoke passionately about the importance of Good Wolf for youth and his hope that the Good Wolf curriculum and approach can be implemented throughout the high school within the next four years, and
  • Judge Jared Rice of the New Rochelle Criminal Court, who described the Opportunity Youth Part (OYP), his cutting-edge program for first-time young adult felony offenders, and the importance of Good Wolf’s engagement with young adults in that program to help them turn their lives around.

Dr. John Delfs, a neurologist and neuroscientist and the Founder and President of Good Wolf, discussed the neuroscientific rationale for Good Wolf, presented a “sample lesson” on insights from neuroscience, and described the exciting outcomes in the pilot program at New Rochelle High School, in which sixteen adolescent participants learned about their brains and took their lives in more positive directions. And in an inspiring video compilation, several students explained how learning about their brains had empowered them and changed their lives.

Finally, Dr. Delfs introduced Good Wolf 2.0, a strategic vision for expanding Good Wolf’s impact through scaling up our teaching (Good Wolf Academy), accelerating the translation of brain science into more and more practical applications (Good Wolf Institute), and bringing the Good Wolf message and empowerment to a larger community, including improving public policy (Good Wolf Center of Excellence).

It was an evening of education, fun, celebration, and hope.

Our hope? That you will join us in creating a better future!
